Osoberry (Oemleria cerasiformis)

Closeup of female Oemleria cerasiformis (Osoberry) with another photo of the profuse blooms of its next door neighboring male. We have two male and female pairs on our property. I love the blooms and the dusky orange-purple berries in fall. I've noticed the female Osoberry seems to bloom three or four days later than the male and have less blooms overall.

A variety of bumblebee and bee species are out and about today, well-supported by our native early bloomers such as this species!
