Post-Halloween Rain

Saturday, November 01, 2008

We were so lucky to have a clear and relatively warm night for trick-or-treating, but we woke up to rain this morning. Our walkway, glowing the night before with pretty little votive bag holders and carved pumpkins was now a soggy mess. The bowl of Halloween candy left for any late-night trick-or-treaters once we had gone to bed was half-full of water.

The leaves in the street sit soggy, awaiting a rake to rescue them from quick decomposition from muddy, dirty tires.

Others will slowly decompose atop mounds of bright, green moss.

And others still hang on with a little bit of life, clinging to their homes on soon-to-be bare branches for one more day.
