September's Harvest Moon

Wednesday, September 17, 2008

The harvest moon, which is the full moon nearest to the autumnal equinox (Monday the 22nd), has been so beautiful the past couple of nights. Landon took this picture while out on a walk with Juniper after dinner, who has this past week started taking 2 or 3 or sometimes 4 twenty to thirty minute naps every day (wasn't it just two weeks ago she was taking three hour naps in the mornings?). When you consider the time it takes to lay with her until she falls asleep and the time it takes to soothe her when she wakes up cranky, this is just about four hours out of my day, and that's just for naps.

Poor Sam . . . time with him has been hit and miss lately. I must start scheduling nights out with him again. I miss my little boy! Fall will be here in the next week; I'm looking forward to watching him play in the (hopefully dry and crisp) big leaf maple leaves and taking him and Juniper on our family October outing to the pumpkin patch!
