French Kitchen and Custer Park

I ordered this French Kitchen for Sam after seeing it in Spielwerk a few weeks ago. It comes with plates, pans, utensils, and groceries--all wooden. I have a link to it on Amazon in my sidebar. I can't recommend this little kitchen more. It's wonderful!

Sam cooks me up meal after meal and I pretend like it's the best food I've ever had as I eat every bite.

I love the Velcro bread slices. They go nicely with some other Velcro veggies we already had, and it's fun for him to pretend like he's slicing them up with his wooden knife.

We've also been enjoying Custer Park, a park we recently discovered but always knew about. The playground is set up on a hill and there always seems to be a nice, cool breeze up there, which makes it a nice place to spend time on a hot summer day. Sam loves the merry-go-round, one of his favorite activities on the playground.

It really is his favorite. He learned how to run and jump on from the bigger kids, and he does this over and over again. I always give him a choice of about five or six parks in our neighborhood and he always says, "I want to go to CUSTER Park, Mommy!" It is one of the few parks that has a merry-go-round, after all.

Our neighbors watched the kids tonight and Landon and I were able to go visit our friends Joel and Majo, who were badly burned recently. It was so great to see them, hear their voices, and to tell them how much we've been thinking of them. They are doing so well, and their faces have healed up nicely. They have some time before they'll be home, then rehab, but they're going to be okay in the end. I haven't been able to stop thinking about them, and was so encouraged by their progress.
