Long Day

Monday, March 24, 2008
We stayed home all day today, and I don't think I'm going to do that again for awhile. The day went by slowly, and even though I took Samuel outside for awhile during one of Juniper's naps, by the end of the day, I was more than ready to get out of the house for book-club (we read "The Big House" by George Howe Colt). It's been a rough week, because Juniper came down with her second cold, and nights have been next to sleepless. Going into a day like today with such sleep deprivation makes every hour seem like two. To be honest, I actually considered not going to book-club because I was so tired, but I decided I would rather be tired at book-club than tired and working at home. So, Juniper and I went, and I had a good time. She got a little fussy in the evening, and that seemed to be escalating, so I left an hour or so earlier than usual. She screamed almost all the way home. She really doesn't like being in the car at night, so I rarely go out with her once it's dark. I went to bed almost as soon as I got home. I rarely go to bed that early, but I'm learning that I need to, because that way I'm not so tired the next day. Juniper was up between 4 and 6am, so I'm glad I was able to fall asleep by 10PM. Tomorrow is a new day!

Take heart! Livi used to scream every time we put her in her car seat until we'd reach our destination. She has FINALLY outgrown that, and I'm sure it will get better for Juniper too!
