Welcome, October

Monday, October 01, 2007

October has arrived with lots of rain. I am looking forward to the weather returning to a dry, crisp fall so I can hear the leaves blow across the street. It's no fun seeing the leaves lie wet and piled in the streets, turning to mulch and clogging the storm drains.
I just baked another 1/2 batch of chocolate chip cookies. They are so good, it's hard to resist.
I picked up the rental car today. Another $750.00 of damage was found on my car, so now the damages are estimated over 2K. I have a nice rental car to get me through the week, though, so no worries.
Took a nice, long nap today with Samuel. We ran morning errands (Costco, Post Office, Starbucks), and I was so ready for sleep by the time I got home.
Landon and I are going to watch "The Lives of Others" tonight--I've heard it's an excellent film.
Oh, does anyone have recommendations on CD's/tracks to add to my play-list for the birth? I was watching video footage on youtube tonight of women giving birth at home & it was inspiring. I need to stock up the bedroom closet for the homebirth over the next few weeks so that it's all ready to go for the home visit my midwives have scheduled for my 36 week appointment. That appointment will be at my house, at which point they'll do my Group B strep culture, make recommendations on where to put the heated birthing tub we plan to rent, and make any other suggestions they think might be helpful for the homebirth. Lots to do over the next few weeks...I think I'm going to put off consigning clothes until the next sale. After all, I have more important things to focus on right now.

Sounds like there is a lot of 'extra' things to do for the home birth.
Do you have to buy a lot of extra stuff?

Where did you get the picture Karli? I don't know how you do that with finding pictures and then putting them on your blog.
Nice though!! I liked the one below also of the leaves and rain-drops!

It's down to the last few weeks! You will love having a homebirth. I'm so excited to hear how it goes for you.

Do you think you want to give birth in the tub? I hadn't planned on it but once I got in I didn't want to get out :-).
