I worked hard to get through Wild Swans by Jung Chang for book-club tonight, but several people did not show, so the discussion was minimal. This is a 700-page book, and reads like a history book. It was very interesting, as I know little of Chinese history, but extremely detailed, which a couple people disliked about it. I'm really glad I read it, but feel a little gypped on the discussion tonight. I always look forward to starting a new book, however, and next month's selection is Midaq Alley by Naguib Mahfouz.

Other than book-club, I was able to sort through the newborn bins from when Samuel was a baby, and have lots and lots of clothes for the new baby. We didn't know Samuel was a boy, so I have lots of gender neutral sleepers, t-shirts, and onesies. Since we're wrapping up the project in our bedroom, and we now have a dresser, Landon's old childhood dresser is now Samuel's, and the new baby will have the antique bureau that I used for Samuel, as it's the right height for a changing table as well. Anyway, I finally feel like everything is coming together for the new baby. The crib is set up as well. I still have some things to do to prepare, but the biggest projects are now done, which included buying a new dresser for us and the painting projects (hallway, our bedroom). I'm giving birth in our bedroom in November, so wanted to re-do the room, which I've been wanting to do for awhile anyway. Now it's nearly done! --Karli

It is such a GREAT feeling when you start getting to the point where you are feeling pretty much ready for the new baby!!

I loved that feeling of finally feeling like I was ready and prepared and I was pleased with the "getting ready" results!!!

I can't wait to see what you have done Karli!!
