Appointment Rescheduled

Friday, May 04, 2007
It was a disappointment, but my prenatal appointment was rescheduled until Monday afternoon, because the midwives were attending a birth that went a lot longer than they expected. Landon mentioned that I'd want them to be there for me when I'm in labor, so I decided to put a positive spin on it. Now I have Monday to look forward to. Really, the appointment I'm looking forward to is at 12 weeks where we'll see the baby on ultrascreen and hear the heartbeat. Right now, it's still a little too early, and I'd rather wait to try to hear the heartbeat until it can be picked up. I'd just worry if they tried and couldn't find it because of trying to listen too early. So, I wait, which is what you do during pregnancy.

Landon is finally home after a business trip, and I am so glad for the break. Right now, he's putting Samuel to bed. I was so ready for him to be home after all this rain and being cooped up in the house for three days. I'm hoping to get some extra rest tonight, and looking forward to my chiropractic appointment in the morning. I've never been to a chiropractor, but after trying everything else, including massage therapy, I've finally decided to give it a shot to correct a shoulder problem I've been dealing with since 2003. Basically, I can't sleep on my left side due to numbness I feel when I put pressure on my left shoulder. So, I've slept on my right side since 2003! Not having options of sleeping positions is not a good thing outside of pregnancy, let alone during pregnancy. I was lucky to have this problem disappear during my pregnancy with Samuel, and I sort of thought it was going away at the beginning of this pregnancy, and although it has definitely gotten better, it's still there, and it needs to be resolved so I can sleep more comfortably, which is really important! So, wish me luck tomorrow!
