I stopped by Gay's house today to look at her garden, and get some bulbs. Samuel loved her cats, her Boston terriers, and her parrot, Paco. It was a nice visit seeing her garden, and it was fun to see Samuel giggle when the dogs licked his feet. Everything is so new to Samuel, and now that he is so alert, it is fun to see his reactions to sights and sounds for the very first time. It was a nice afternoon, and the weather was gorgeous today. Only got to about 80 degrees, which is perfect for me! I made deep-fried chicken nuggets for us tonight, breaded in non-fat plain yogurt and flour. They turned out really good! Landon and I finished watching "City of God," which is a good movie in Portuguese, then I looked at my gardening book after I got Samuel down for the evening. I was reading all about physalis--chinese lanterns--and why they are taking over my yard! They work better as potted plants, because they are super invasive. This is kind of too bad, though, because they are so pretty in the fall when the paper lanterns hang down! I'm going to try to get them out of the ground, even though they have spread like wildfire, and then control them by burying a pot in the ground and taking the bottom of the pot out. That way, the runners can't run. Karli
