Here is a picture of Samuel & I only two weeks after delivery.

For the past few weeks, I have been losing my hair in clumps, which is common in the postpartum period. Here is an explanation taken from babycenter.com:

During pregnancy, your hair shifts into a growth phase, in which less hair falls out on a daily basis. But as soon as you deliver and your hormones have settled down — usually at about 12 weeks after delivery — you shift into a shedding phase called telogen effluvium when you may be alarmed to find your locks coming out in bunches. Normally, you lose about 100 to 125 hairs a day, but during a shedding phase, you may be losing about 500 a day.

So, that's what my hair is up to these days. Clumps fall out, especially in the shower. I'm trying to brush my hair a lot, but I'm finding it everywhere, nonetheless, and have had to put liquid draino down our shower drain several times already.

Today, I worked on our budget most of the morning, then ran some errands--Annie Bloom's for thank-you cards, Kinko's to make a copy of my driver's license to update my name on my student loans, went to Starbucks to get Landon a drink and take it to his work, and stopped for a hamburger at McDonald's, which was very bad of me! I am losing weight, though, and am super happy, because I was able to fit into another one of my pre-pregnancy pants over the weekend! That's two pairs now that I fit. I just have about 5 more pounds to go, as well as some toning until I'm back to my old self. It feels good to almost have my old body back after a year of major changes!
