Today we went down to McMinnville to spend the last day before my Dad’s surgery with him. We stayed for a few hours, and my Dad was in pretty good spirits. Landon took some videos of my Dad. I had taken some on Friday when I was in McMinnville of my Dad holding Samuel. Our digital camera takes pretty good home videos! Almost wasn’t worth us buying a video-camera, since we use our digital so much for videos.

When we got home, I made rosemary & orange shrimp. It was my first time making it, so I had to learn how to clean & de-vein the shrimp. I did a pretty good job, except for when I broke the dish by burning the rosemary initially and running the glass pan under cold water. Shattered to a million pieces. This added a little stress to my cooking experience, but I was able to get my composure and start over, and luckily the shrimp & other ingredients remained unaffected by the shattered glass. I was afraid glass splinters would be all over, but luckily the food was all covered when it happened, so I didn’t have to worry about that.

Tomorrow is my Dad’s surgery—I’m nervous about it, and feeling like I’m not going to be able to sleep too much tonight. It’s hard not to worry. All I can do is hope for the best possible outcome at this point.
