It is hard to believe that the baby is going to be here in just 3 1/2 months. It is already mid-October! Where has time gone? I'm hoping to finish the pregnancy like it began--with little to no problems. Lately, I have been experiencing swelling in my hands. It began about a week ago, and happens most frequently when I'm on my feet a lot, or have not drank a sufficient amount of water. As I'm typing right now, I cannot bend my fingers all the way, because of swelling that has not gone down in the past few days. My fears at this point are developing gestational diabetes or pre-eclampsia. Both run in the maternal side of my family. I'm hoping for the best, though, and trying not to let a little swelling let me worry about pre-eclampsia.

Today I went to a pumpkin patch with my mom & sisters in Canby. Because I had been in the car for over an hour prior to going (taking Felix to the vet in Clackamas), I was in some pain, so did not enjoy myself very much. Kaenan went on the pony ride, jumped in the hazel-nut house, and jumped in the blown up balloon. He did not do very well with the other kids who were also jumping in the house and the balloon, though, and spent more time crying then enjoying himself. After two hours, I left to go get Felix from the vet. He needed to be groomed (I was unable to do a sufficient job last night), so I took to the groomers after picking him up from the vet. He did excellent. He laid there and let them shave him, which made me feel really good about it. I stayed the whole time, and then took him home. I'll post a picture here to show what his new haircut looks like.

My friend Jen came over at 4:30 pm, and we talked and played with her baby Dylan for a couple of hours. In the evening, Landon and I went to Lowe's to get some things for the house, then went out for Mexican food. After that, I fell asleep watching that 11 o'clock news.
