This is a picture of me the night before we got our keys. The sellers had moved out at this point, and we peeked into the windows to see an empty house, but since we didn't have our keys, that's all we could do--peek.

After having breakfast with Mom, Tracy, and Haelie this morning, I drove back to Portland. I left Kahneeta at 10am, and didn't get to Portland until almost 1pm. I stopped on the way home to buy something for Mike & Landon for Father's Day. I came home and took a nap, since I didn't sleep hardly a wink last night. At 6pm, we went out to dinner with Mike & Susan for Father's Day. We went to La Cruda, a Mexican restaurant in the Clinton Street neighborhood. Mike & Susan bought Landon a little eco-system glass ball with three live shrimp in it for his first Father's Day, which was really nice of them. Landon was a little surprised, because I don't think he was expecting to celebrate Father's Day this year!

After dinner, we went to the benefit. It wasn't as good of a turn-out as I had expected, but it wasn't bad. We made 174.00 at the door, which is for about 58 people @ $3.00 a person for the cover-charge. The musicians only made 200.00, since there was just the two of them, but with other donations, we made about 500.00 for the evening, which is a lot better than nothing at all! I'm kind of glad the benefit is over, though, because it was a lot of work to plan it, and it's been in the works for awhile, so I'm glad it is now over. It was really nice of Jim & Landon to donate their time and pay to Bradley-Angle. Kristian, the development director, brought a cake to celebrate Bradley-Angle's 29th Birthday, and so Cindy and I helped Kristan pass out cake to the patrons at Biddy McGraw's. Landon and Jim played really well, but it was a hard gig for them, because it was just the two of them, so they had to work extra hard. It was fun, though, for all. Biddy's wasn't too smoky. We got there at 8:30, and didn't leave until after 2am, so it was a long night. I was so glad to fall into bed when we got home. I will say that it was a good experience for me to plan this benefit. However, having said that, it is a relief that it is over!
