Little Critter

Landon and I have decided that Juniper is a Little Critter. About a year ago, I ordered about twenty Mercer Mayer books through Bookmooch and recently, while reading them to Sam and Juni, Landon saw the resemblance right away between Juniper and the little sister in the Little Critter Books.

Don't you see it, too?

She's such a little climber these days that she even amazes herself sometimes.

She's also such a little girl in so many ways. I always want to remember her at this age, before talking, pre-tantrums, and right in between babyhood and toddlerhood. I think this is one of my favorite ages!

And so our Little Critter continues to grow and change, almost daily expressing new dimensions of her personality. Yesterday when I took out a granola bar for her and Sam to split, she surprised me by saying, "bar." She was so proud of herself that she said it again and again. She'll be 17 months on May 10th, and in the coming weeks she'll start talking more and more. The days of her babyhood are fading fast; they will be gone before I know it! Of course, Juniper will always be my baby (and Little Critter), no matter how many years go by . . . I can't help but think this is how it is with Mamas and their babies.
