Happy Mother's Day!

Sunday, May 10, 2009

I teared up today when Sam, who has been talking about a surprise he'd made for me at preschool for Mother's Day, brought this home--a card he decorated with quotations from Sam (written by his teacher) about things he likes to do with me. He made a little candle-holder with tissue paper and a baby-food jar, with a paper heart glued to the bottom. He said, "Mommy, I picked out green tissue paper for the jar, because I know that's your favorite color." It was the most thoughtful gift I've ever received, and like I said, it brought a tear to my eye.

Here are the quotes from the card:

"I like giving her hugs and kisses when Juniper hits her."
"I like drawing pictures with her."
"I like cutting out pieces and gluing them together with glue sticks."
"I like playing with Tinker Toys with her."

Happy Mother's Day, ladies!
